Our Story
The idea for Voyage Aeronautics® first took flight back in 2015 when our founder, Adam Thompson, became frustrated with the drone options on the market. As an aviation engineer, Adam had always been fascinated with flight and aerial photography, but he found most consumer drones to be either cheap toys or high-priced rigs aimed at professionals.
Where were the thoughtfully designed, mid-range drones for drone lovers like him?
After months of research and tinkering in his garage workshop, Adam built the first prototype for what would eventually become the Va-2080. He focused on creating a drone that struck the perfect balance of quality, performance, features, and price.
In 2017, the Va-2080 Compact Micro Drone was officially launched! The Va-2080 quickly earned glowing reviews for its ease of use, stunning 4K aerial footage, and sleek, foldable design.
Buoyed by the Va-2080’s success, Adam brought on additional engineering and design talent to grow Voyage Aeronautics® into a fully-fledged drone company. We leased a small production facility to ramp up manufacturing capabilities and kept improving the Va-2080 with customer feedback in mind.
Today, the Va-2080 remains our flagship drone, but we also offer a full line-up of accessories, add-ons, and cutting-edge new drones in development. Our tight-knit team is dedicated to helping drone enthusiasts get the most out of every flight.
